Florida Boating Survey
Dear Florida Boater,
The Sebastian Inlet District (District) maintains the navigational channel between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River,
which allows boaters and fisherman to access offshore waters at the Brevard and Indian River County line. Boaters and fishermen
purchase goods and services from area businesses, thereby contributing greatly to the economy of our region. If the Sebastian
Inlet were not adequately maintained, boaters that currently use the Inlet, and the businesses servicing boaters, would be negatively impacted.
Recognizing the importance of recreational boating to our local economy, the District is sponsoring a survey of recreational boaters
in the region. This survey is part of larger study that will estimate the economic impact of the Sebastian Inlet to our regionís economy.
Since you are a registered boater who resides in the region, we ask that you participate in the attached survey regarding your boating
activities. With the information you and other boaters provide, we will be able to estimate the economic impact generated by recreational
boating. This information is critical in helping to demonstrate the importance of maintaining the inlet to regional communities and policy makers.
Please note that each of your answers is important and any information provided will be held strictly CONFIDENTIAL. Information from
individual survey respondents will not be reported or made public in any fashion. The questionnaires are numbered; and therefore, when
you answer and submit your survey, we will erase your name from our mailing list and your name will not appear on the questionnaire.
The firm of Cardno ENTRIX is conducting the survey and helping collect your response. We urge you to complete the questionnaire and return
it to them in the enclosed postage-paid envelope.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation, and if you have any questions about the survey, please contact Mr. Stuart Norvell at Cardno ENTRIX at 813.399.1836
or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
